History of Workbound

History of Workbound

The skills needed by young people to build a successful career have changed dramatically through globalization and improvements in technology. With these changes, the workforce of the future must adapt and develop the ability to work with both their heads and hands. They must be able to think and do in the world of work.

Workbound's mission is to enable high school students to develop skills and tools meant to focus on and prepare for careers that will enhance the quality of not only their lives, but also the quality of the local community.

Founded in 1990 as a nonprofit 501©3 organization by Tom O'Brien, a Sheboygan County educator, along with a group of Sheboygan-area businessmen, this innovative program is dedicated to investing in our community's most valuable resource: our young people.
